50 Words Or Less
The Evnroll V5.1 putter is centered around customization. With six replaceable sole weights, six options of interchangeable neck styles, and five V series heads, there are dozens of combinations to suit any style of player.
Introduction
Evnroll has been producing quality putters since their inception in 2016. Their founder, Guerin Rife, has a putter reputation that extends even further back than that and it shows. Whether Guerin and his team are pushing the boundaries on zero torque putters [Evnroll ZERO review HERE] or perfecting the classic anser style, Evnroll always seems to be pushing the industry to new levels. For 2025, their new V Series of putters takes customization to a whole new level. I took the Evnroll V5.1 putter for a spin to see how it stacks up.
Looks
The first thing you’ll notice about the Evnroll V5.1 putter is the two tone color scheme. The leading edge is wrapped in a matte silver while the rear fang style mallet is all black and also finished in matte. This style reminds me of Justin Thomas’s Phantom X 5.5 [review HERE] mixed with a Jailbird Mini [review HERE] that Rickie Fowler made popular in 2023. Even so, the Evnroll V5.1 has a bit more of a modern look than either of those.
Unique to the Evnroll V5.1 putter is a surprising nine different screws along the sole. The three along the leading edge hold the shaft, face, and body together while the other six are replaceable weights which I’ll discuss later.
At address, the V5.1 sits flush to the ground and square to the ball. The two tone head contrasts well against the white ball inspiring confidence standing over that ten footer.
Sound and Feel
The sound of the Evnroll V5.1 putter, like most from Guerin Rife, is exceptional. Almost every stroke elicits a deep, muted “tock” at impact. Only on the rare occasion where I got way away from center did I experience a higher pitched type of sound.
The feel of the V5.1 is as a solid as the sound. Good strikes were muted through the hands and grip while my worst strikes provided a slightly harder feel. The SweetFace technology plays a role here as the wide grooves provide velvety-like feel at impact.
Performance
The new V5.1 putter from Evnroll is all about customization. While there are endless options for making the V5.1 perfect for you, I want to start with the neck. Evnroll offers six different styles. I went with the short slant neck which creates about 45 degrees of toe hang. This is great for someone who prefers a medium amount of toe flow in their putting stroke. Plus, I like how the slant neck allows the putter shaft to appear parallel to the leading edge of the club head.
In addition to the neck options, there are six interchangeable sole weights that can help fine tune preference. Whether you prefer a specific swing weight or just like to tinker until you find what suits you best, the Evnroll V5.1 putter gives you options. I should mention that the extra weights are sold separately, but can be purchased right on Evnroll’s website HERE.
Once I set my specs, I got the Evnroll V5.1 on the course and found the shaping and lines to be beneficial in squaring up the ball to the target. Part of this equation is the symmetrical nature of the head and white alignment line. However, a unique and underrated feature is the grooves that run along the center of the flange, pointing towards the target. This additional alignment tool made it that much easier to get my ball started on line.
Lastly, the SweetFace technology is back in the Evnroll V5.1 putter. The wide-to-narrow milled grooves help generate consistent distance control. While I didn’t suddenly start making every putt, I noticed better uniformity with getting the ball to stop near the hole.
If the Evnroll V5.1 isn’t exactly your cup of tea, Evnroll offers four other styles to choose from in the V series. Add in the range of shaft and neck choices and multiple sole weight options at a price of $429, there is something for even the most particular of golfers.
Conclusion
Whether you are a tinkerer or just want some flexibility when it comes to a high end putter, the Evnroll V5.1 putter puts the customization in the player’s hands. The wide array of sole weighting, neck and head styles bundled with Evnroll’s brand of clean lines and SweetFace technology should easily fit any golfer and should be considered by even the most particular of players.
