The Evnroll V12 is a premium mallet with a familiar head shape and the company’s trademark SweetFace technology. Great looks, better performance.
Introduction
Putting is all about getting the ball in hole as quickly as possible (Captain Obvious signing off now). Evnroll’s SweetFace technology is a small design feature that does a great job of managing some of the variables that keep golfers from doing just that. The company launched its V series in 2022. In 2025, the line received a refresh with new head shapes and hosel designs. The Evnroll V12 is one of four head shapes in this new lineup, features multi-material construction, and is available with a short slant or plumber’s neck hosel. Learn more in this review.
Looks
The Evnroll V12 head shape is reminiscent of one of the more popular mallet putters these days but still retains its own identity. It looks compact relative to some other high MOI mallets on the market today. It’s a look that exudes precision, and I think will be favored by better players.
There’s a nice interplay of a black milled aluminum body, stainless steel perimeter weights, and white sight line extending the length of the putter head. There are also some grooves milled either side of the sight line that I think contribute to an overall sense of visual harmony.
When you turn the club over, you’ll notice a golf ball-shaped cavity which can be used to pick up a ball that has failed to find its way to the cup. Overall, the putter looks premium. The black shaft adds to this effect, as well as the high quality Evnroll branded headcover and grip.
Sound & Feel
The sound of impact is a gentle ‘tock.’ The ball feels soft off the face, but the Evnroll V12 is not among the softest feeling putters I have tried. When compared to a milled steel putter, the milled aluminum face feels a bit less deep/resounding and a touch less sticky/soft.
There isn’t a lot of feedback through the hands. Because of the SweetFace tech, I spent a good deal of time hitting putts intentionally off the toe and heel and found that even on these extreme strikes there wasn’t much of a change in the sound and feel.
Performance
As I alluded to in the introduction, technology is great, but does it help get the ball in the hole? In the case of the Evnroll V12, the answer is yes. Frankly, it isn’t always as apparent that a given piece of tech does exactly what the OEM says it will do as it is with Evnroll’s SweetFace technology. With the Evnroll V12, it’s very clear that the performance of the putter is bolstered by this tech.
If you’re not familiar with Evnroll’s trademark face technology, I’ll provide a brief layman’s version. Evnroll’s putters have grooves milled into the face, but instead of being uniform across the face, the grooves are variable in both width and depth. The grooves, or channels as Evnroll calls them, become narrower and deeper as they get closer to the edges of the putter face.
The functional impact of this is to redirect the ball down the target line when it is struck off center. It also accounts for energy transfer so that a ball struck in the center will travel the same distance as one struck off the toe or heel, given the putts are struck with equal force. While this has been verified with robot testing, and I am far from a robot, I was able to easily recreate those results during my own testing. Putting the ball way further off the toe than I would ever hope to during an actual round yielded startlingly on-line putts with accurate distance control.
During my testing, I repeatedly saw putts start on their intended starting line and roll true. It was tough to get the ball to the hole during an early season round on frozen and shaggy greens, but I don’t hold that against the Evnroll V12 at all. I found the putter extremely easy to line up. I also really like the stock grip Evnroll is putting on this putter. Grips are a personal preference, but I found this non-tapered grip had a nice semi-tacky feel and was just the right size, not too fat or too thin.
I should briefly mention the “Gimme” feature on the bottom of the club. While I’m used to quickly raking missed putts with the wings of my trusty #7, I had not used a putter with this kind of grabber before. I found it worked well overall. Occasionally the ball would not stick if there was a bit too much sand or moisture on the ball, so how well it functions seems somewhat dependent on conditions.
If you decide to game this putter, get ready to see the ball rolling end over end. The only reason I wouldn’t recommend it is if you want to be able to lay some blame on your putter for missed putts. In that case, you might want to go with something less forgiving.
Conclusion
The Evnroll V12 is a mallet putter that combines premium looks and feel with a differentiating piece of technology where it matters most: at impact. At $429 it sits on that top shelf in the putter market but everything it offers makes that an understandable price to pay. Players who like the look of the putter and are intrigued by the technology are encouraged to give it a try.
